It's been thirty years to the day since two very important events ruptured the fabric of space and time in the nerd world.
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
The Empire Strikes back debuted, giving Star Wars fans and movie lovers alike arguably the most coveted sequel (other then the Matrix: Reloaded....pffffft) in movie history. Makes sense too. The battle of Hoth, the introduction of Yoda, the Vader/father revelation, Boba friggin' Fett, Lando's epic stache, whats not to like? Let today be a reminder of just how awesome the original Star Wars trilogy was, and let us collectively join 'forces' to try and forget the fact that Episodes 1-3, Jar-Jar Binks, and young Mannequin Skywalker ever existed. While we're at it, lets try and forget there was ever an Indy 4, too. It's soothing to simply pretend certain things never happened.
Pac-Man
That's right, today marks the thirty year anniversary of one of the most ground-breaking games in history. Ignoring the fact that you probably have an iteration of this game on your cell phone (or did at one point), take a couple of brief minutes out of your day to head over to Google for a couple of rounds of good ol' fashioned, blue-ghost-chasing fun. Happy anniversary Pac-Man!
